Facelift

Aging is relentless and in time, our skin will lose its elasticity along with its tone.  The tight contours of the jawline begin to fade; the cheek descends and marks the smile folds along the creases beside the mouth.  Vertical lines and horizontal wrinkles are seen with every facial movement.

A facelift (rhytidectomy) can be individually designed to counteract these problems by tightening the structures above the muscles and re-suspending the tissues.  Many techniques are available today ranging from mini-lifts to thread only, no incision lifts.   Most proclaim a minimum recovery time, however effectiveness over the long haul is compromised and mini procedures end up being repeated many times.  If you want to freshen your look, it saves time and money to do it properly the first time.

Incisions are inconspicuous, hidden behind the ears or in the hairline. For the proper indication, an endoscope (a slim instrument with a fiber-optic camera) can assist with raising the cheekbones or the eyebrows to where they once were, hiding short incisions in the scalp.  Due to their highly specialized nature, few surgeons offer these techniques to address the midface.  However, in the right hands they can effectively rejuvenate one’s appearance.

My practice uses highly specialized anesthesiologists within our surgery center for the safest possible conditions during your operation.  The recovery phase varies depending on type of facelift performed.
