Expert Facelifts at Meade Aesthetic Surgery

Medically known as a "rhytidectomy," a facelift gently tightens the skin and lifts the underlying fatty tissues and muscles, restoring a youthful and toned look throughout your lower face. A facelift can be an excellent option for both men and women who feel their outer appearance no longer accurately reflects their inner vitality.

Dr. Meade discusses the Facelift

Specializing in all three facelift techniques, Dr. Meade explains the best approach to facelift.

The Facelift Procedure

A complete facelift in Dallas with Dr. Meade involves discreet incisions along the hairline to ensure minimal visible scarring. The underlying muscles and fatty tissues are carefully repositioned through these incisions to create a more youthful and contoured facial structure. After these adjustments, the skin is gently tightened and re-draped over the newly shaped contours, providing a natural and rejuvenated appearance. Excess skin is then trimmed away, and the incisions are meticulously closed to promote optimal healing.

    Types of Facelifts

    HIGH SMAS FACELIFT

The HIGH SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) technique will more fully address moderate to advanced aging around the mid-face and neck. It lifts the midface in a high and LATERAL vector (towards the ears).

Through incisions located just behind the hairline, starting near the temples and around the front of the ear, hidden in the natural folds, Dr. Meade can reposition the deeper tissues beneath the skin and remove excess skin to smooth creases, eliminate jowling and sagging skin under the chin, and restore a naturally youthful contour of the face and neck.

    DEEP PLANE FACELIFT

During a deep plane facelift, Dr. Meade repositions deeper tissues and structures of the face, including muscles and fat pads in the cheeks. This includes the skin, the SMAS dissection, and the cheek fat en bloc.

This is a LATERAL vector technique in which weak tissues are supported towards the ear. This achieves more thorough lifting without tightly pulling the skin for maximum results while retaining a natural-looking appearance.

    COMPOSITE FACELIFT

Dr. Meade's Composite Facelift represents the cutting-edge alternative to the traditional facelift procedure. With his innovative and distinctive approach, Dr. Meade tackles all aspects of facial aging, spanning from the lower eyelids to the collarbone area. This holistic technique ensures a remarkably natural appearance and offers enduring results that stand the test of time.

    UPPER FACELIFT

    MID FACELIFT

It also consists of the area above your lip. The mid-facelift, known as a zygoorbicular dissection or a “soft tissue cheek lift,” elevates the orbicularis and Zygomaticus Minor.

    LOWER FACELIFT

This includes everything below the corners of your mouth, the nasolabial folds (smile lines), the jawline, and the area under the chin and neck.

    MINI FACELIFT

A Mini-Facelift is a less invasive technique tightens facial tissues through shorter incisions along the hairline above each ear.

    Recovering After Your Facelift

A drain may be inserted and removed the next morning, with instructions for lymphatic massage for a few days. Avoid vigorous activity for at least 2-3 weeks. Wearing button-up shirts instead of pullovers is recommended to prevent friction on your healing face.
