Expert Facelifts in Dallas, TX

Medically known as a "rhytidectomy," a facelift gently tightens the skin and lifts the underlying fatty tissues and muscles, restoring a youthful and toned look throughout your lower face. A facelift can be an excellent option for both men and women who feel their outer appearance no longer accurately reflects their inner vitality. Patients can consider various options knowing they could do something more to support how they want to present themselves to the world. Sometimes, a facelift can be combined with eyelid surgery, brow lift, or a myriad of other procedures, products, or modalities to rejuvenate the upper face, neck, and other areas of concern as well, giving you the ability to turn back the clock and show the world a more youthful, rejuvenated version of yourself.

Dr. Meade discusses the Facelift

Specializing in all three facelift techniques, Dr. Meade explains the best approach to facelift.

Facelift with Dr. Ricardo Meade

UPPER FACELIFT

This technique addresses everything above your eyes, primarily your brow, and forehead.

MID FACELIFT

This technique addresses the facial areas from the corners of the eyes to the corners of the mouth. This includes cheek fat nearest the nose, just below the lower eyelids. It also consists of the area above your lip. The mid-facelift, known as a zygoorbicular dissection or a “soft tissue cheek lift,” elevates the orbicularis and Zygomaticus Minor.

LOWER FACELIFT

This includes everything below the corners of your mouth, the nasolabial folds (smile lines), the jawline, and the area under the chin and neck.

MINI FACELIFT

A Mini-Facelift is a less invasive technique tightens facial tissues through shorter incisions along the hairline above each ear.

Types of Facelifts

HIGH SMAS FACELIFT

The HIGH SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) technique will more fully address moderate to advanced aging around the mid-face and neck. It lifts the midface in a high and LATERAL vector (towards the ears).

Through incisions located just behind the hairline, starting near the temples and around the front of the ear, hidden in the natural folds, Dr. Meade can reposition the deeper tissues beneath the skin and remove excess skin to smooth creases, eliminate jowling and sagging skin under the chin, and restore a naturally youthful contour of the face and neck.

DEEP PLANE FACELIFT

During a deep plane facelift, Dr. Meade repositions deeper tissues and structures of the face, including muscles and fat pads in the cheeks. This includes the skin, the SMAS dissection, and the cheek fat en bloc.

This is a LATERAL vector technique in which weak tissues are supported towards the ear. This achieves more thorough lifting without tightly pulling the skin for maximum results while retaining a natural-looking appearance.

COMPOSITE FACELIFT

Dr. Meade's Composite Facelift represents the cutting-edge alternative to the traditional facelift procedure. With his innovative and distinctive approach, Dr. Meade tackles all aspects of facial aging, spanning from the lower eyelids to the collarbone area. This holistic technique ensures a remarkably natural appearance and offers enduring results that stand the test of time.

Rejuvenate Your Appearance With a Facelift

As we age, our skin loses elasticity, and our facial tissues lose volume. Eventually, this results in “jowls” on the lower face, deep wrinkles, and loose skin on our neck. This is a natural part of aging, and patients bothered by these signs of aging may find that a facelift is a good solution.

  • Sagging skin makes you feel self-conscious about how your face and neck look.
  • You wear turtlenecks and scarves not because you want to but to hide your aging neck.
  • When you see your reflection or photos of yourself you feel like your face makes you look much older than you feel.
  • You feel that an aging appearance negatively affects your career or personal relationships.

Consulting With Dr. Meade

At your initial consultation, you and Dr. Meade can thoroughly discuss your vision, personal goals, available options, and the fundamental components of a facelift. Then, by working together, a clear and sensible plan can be developed to reach the best possible results after surgery.

Upon having all of your questions answered and fully understanding your hopes for the procedure, Dr. Meade will explain the impacts and benefits of our facelift in Dallas. After that, a timeline of points in the process, your recovery considerations, and how best to maintain your results for years to come will be clearly defined.

Finally, with detailed price information, you will also receive a cost estimate for your facelift and any other procedure you might desire. After, you can book your next appointment when you're ready.

Facelift Preparation

Both the recommendations for pre- and post-operation must be followed. This will help support you in not only facilitating a smooth and successful procedure but with rapid healing as well.

In the weeks before your facelift in Dallas, Dr. Meade may request the following from you:

  • Further medical evaluations or laboratory testing
  • Avoiding or adjusting certain medications or supplements
  • Avoid smoking, using drugs, and drinking alcohol
  • Staying well-hydrated, especially in the days leading up to your procedure

Dr. Meade's Triad of Goals

During your initial consultation, Dr. Meade will review your case's specifics, goals, and concerns and how he might best facilitate their resolution.

His objectives include:

  • To achieve a rejuvenated, youthful face—addressing every element.
  • To have no signs of surgery.
  • To achieve a long-lasting result.

Every patient must agree with this triad of goals before moving forward to forge a partnership based on clarity toward a common goal.

Reduce Your Jowls With a Jowl Lift

A jowl lift is often paired with a facelift to enhance the appearance of the cheeks, lower face, and jawline contour while reducing marionette lines and folds in the neck.

It is considered a 'minimally invasive' procedure, meaning healing should be swift because the incisions are tiny; generally, few sutures are needed. Once healed, scars should be near undetectable while your stunning results are instantly noticeable.

The Facelift Procedure

A facelift addresses signs of aging in the face and neck, such as sagging and loose skin around the cheeks and mid-face, a significant building of the jowls, or a "fallen" lower face.

Dr. Meade is fellowship-trained in many different facelift techniques by the originators and masters of his specialty. Drawing on that practical education and high-level training, he has adapted his modifications over the past 17 years, making these advanced procedures his own.

In a complete facelift, discreet incisions are made along the hairline, and the muscles and fatty tissue are repositioned before finally tightening and re-draping the skin. The limited facelift requires shorter incisions and only tightens the skin without moving muscles or tissue.

During a neck lift, an incision is made behind the ears to remove loose, sagging skin and fatty deposits in the neck area. These more complex surgeries may be combined with medical-grade skin care for even longer-lasting results or non-surgical treatments like BOTOX or dermal fillers in the upper face, neck, and forehead.

    Recovering After Your Facelift

Recovery from a facelift differs for everyone and according to the type of facelift performed. Most patients can expect minimal pain and mild bruising and swelling. Typically, our patients are comfortable enough during recovery to not even finish a prescription of 40 pain pills. However, strictly following Dr. Meade's post-surgical instructions is essential to avoid complications.

Dr. Meade may insert a drain to be removed the morning after surgery and provide instructions on lymphatic massaging that should be practiced for a few days. He usually recommends avoiding vigorous activity for at least 2 or 3 weeks. It is almost always recommended to use a button-up shirt or top rather than a pull-over type, as these can cause unnecessary friction or bother your healing face.

    Stunning, Naturally Beautiful Facelift Results

You should see an immediate difference in your face after surgery, although your results will continue to evolve and shine through as your swelling subsides.

For the best long-term facelift results, Dr. Meade advises attending follow-up appointments, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and protecting your skin from the sun. This will ensure you can enjoy your new look for many years.
